Calculate a Personal Injury
Injury Claims Guide
It is often difficult to set a monetary value to compensate for an injury received. Injury claims, however, attempt to do just that.
An insurance company factors in the amount of trauma and expenses that affect an accident victim and decides upon the compensation amount to be awarded. The actual amount of money awarded varies from one case to another. This is because no two accidents or the effects on the victims can be exactly alike. Personal injury claims cover two types of expenses: general damages and special damages.

General damages are paid out by an insurance company for the physical pain and emotional stress that the accident inflicts on the claimant. Emotional stress includes stress caused due to embarrassment, depression and anxiety, and strain on family relationships. General damages also cover loss of livelihood for claimant.
Special damages include all monetary costs and losses caused due to the accident up to the time of settlement. This includes the cost of damage to property, medical treatment, transportation costs etc. Costs such as ambulances charges and private treatment fall under this category.
If personal injury occurs due to an accident, the first step is to inform the police. The second step is to inform your insurance company. Some policies have time limits which ensure that the policy become invalid if the claimant fails to report the accident.
The third step in filing a personal injury claim is to find yourself a good personal injury lawyer. A lawyer will be best equipped to explain to you the various nuances of filing a personal injury claim. A personal injury claim will require you to describe the nature of the accident in detail. The lawyer will help you to adopt the best approach to ensure that you obtain your claim. Injury solicitors offer a no win, no fee agreement ensuring that there is no personal obligation on the claimant if the injury claim is not awarded.
Out-of-court settlements in personal injury claims are sometimes not possible. The victim should be prepared to relive the trauma of the experience once again in a courtroom. There are four ways in which a personal injury may be compensated. These include using a claim assessor, approaching a civil court for legal action, filing a claim with Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority and through a criminal compensation order. The choice of methodology should be decided upon by your legal counsel.
For an injury claim to be successful, the claimant will need to provide evidence from an injury specialist such as a doctor. The doctor will have to provide medical records of the actual injuries sustained to start the process of compensation claims. It is an injury specialist who will calculate the final compensation value to be awarded to the claimant.

Bad personal credit record showed that you lacked fiscal prudence. You failed to managed your personal finances and you failed to repay your loan commitments as scheduled.
You must convince your lender that you do have the required ability to manage your finances and offer your explanation on the situations that led you to default on those loans. You must show documentary proof that those loans have since been fully settled.
Put up your biz plan and outline your biz strategy. State your level personal capital committed for this biz. State your expected working capital required [including your own capital] to get the biz started and operating. State the factors that will make your biz a viable biz. Your technical skills, your knowledge of the market, biz experience, your network of customers from previous employment. etc.
Convince them you have a competent biz partner with clean credit rating. Convince them that all decisions on the biz will be made jointly with your partner. Finance matters will be your partner's responsibility.

Nick Clegg has said the Liberal Democrats will “never lose their soul” despite the compromises of coalition.
The deputy PM tried to reassure the party’s spring conference that he had not turned into a Conservative since entering Downing Street in May.
“I haven’t been kidnapped by David Cameron,” he told them, adding: “I haven’t changed one bit.”
He was attempting to rally party activists reeling from low poll ratings and public anger over cuts.
But he resisted calls from some in his party to attack the Conservatives in order to reassert its independence ahead of English elections and polls in Scotland and Wales on 5 May.
Instead, he focused on trying to deliver a positive message about what the Lib Dems had achieved in government – including taking the lowest paid out of income tax, civil liberties and the “pupil premium”.

I am a paralegal and they look for organization, knowledge of basic law ie never give legal advice..of course you no that, Some knowledge of what law you will be working at, typing ability, if you have done a brief or other docs make sure you bring them as samples, Remember it is your job to make your attorney look good, of course you screw up it is the attorney that gets the grief not you…always make them look good! They look for honesty, work ethic, personality and I found that when you go for an interview have some knowledge of the law firm or attorney that you may be working for. I have done domestic relations, custody and juvenile,,,very stressful and you deal with a lot of high emotions. When that type of client yells at you do not take it personally and as hard as it can be to snap back (trust me) you have to place yourself in that person's situation and try to calm the client down by telling the you understand their frustration, etc. I have done Workers' Compensation and Social Security calls are basically the same except this time they have no money for medical records, etc. to pay for their cases. The law is fascinating and frustrating at the same time. Do not let that discourage you. While taking classes you will find out what you enjoy. Just remember, the law is not black and white…it is VERY gray! A lot of people do not understand why some cases get punished more than others it is because of the laws written. You will learn all that. I would not change my major of paralegal for anything! I have done this for over 10 years now. I have learned a lot and still keep learning. Good luck to you!

Today’s guest post comes from my friend Tom Ciesielka of TC Public Relations in Chicago. He can be reached at (312) 422-1333 and When I was in college, there really were no formal degrees in public relations. Most professionals had degrees in English, Journalism or Communications. Yet, a “fake” lawyer managed to practice law after posing as an attorney and handled more than 60 cases without a law degree. The Chicago Sun-Times reported that he was sentenced to two years in prison for such a crime. Ironically, according to Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart, “No one suspected anything for years because he did everything right — except obtain a law degree.” While I enjoy working with lawyers and don’t expect them to get a public relations degree, in order to work with me, there are some courses I wish were part of a law degree: Filing a Response to the Reporter on Time: Attorneys know all about statutes of limitations, court filing deadlines, and being at court on-time. Miss one…

LG has been pushing its flavor of 3DTV as Cinema 3D, and now it has slipped the theater related nomenclature onto another feature, the 1mm thin LCD bezels it has dubbed “Cinema Screen”. It claims this move brings the experience closer to the theater, but that’s not the only new feature for 2012. LG announced it will offer Dual Play, where it uses polarized glasses to let two different players see only their perspective on the full screen at once in games that support it. Vizio demonstrated the feature last year as Versus and Sony brought it to market in the PlayStation 3D display. We’ll likely get more time with those razor thin bezels once CES is truly underway, for now check after the break for the press release. suraj.sun writes “An iPhone-owner whose daughter downloaded $200 worth of ‘Zombie Toxin’ and ‘Gems’ through in-app purchases on his iPhone has been allowed to pursue a class action suit against Apple for compensation of up to $5m. Garen Meguerian of Pennsylvania launched the class-action case against Apple in April 2011 after he discovered that his nine-year-old daughter had been draining his credit card account through in-app purchases on ‘free’ games including Zombie Cafe and Treasure Story. This month, Judge Edward J Davila in San Jose District Federal Court has allowed the case to go to trial, rejecting Apple’s claim that the case should be dismissed. Meguerian claimed that Apple was unfairly targeting children by allowing games geared at kids to push them to make purchases. He describes games that are free to play but require purchases of virtual goods to progress as ‘bait apps’ and says they should not be aimed at children.”
